Learning objectives
1. Explain, in plain language, the basic science of climate change and distinguish it clearly from ordinary weather variability.
2. Identify the specific climate change manifestations most relevant to the Niger Delta: sea level rise, coastal erosion, rainfall variability, and extreme weather frequency.
3. Apply a basic vulnerability assessment framework to identify which populations, livelihoods, and locations are most exposed to a given climate hazard.
4. Distinguish exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity as the three components of vulnerability.
5. Communicate climate science accurately and accessibly to a non-technical community audience without oversimplifying to the point of inaccuracy.
