Learning objectives
Explain the principles of person-centred, strengths-based assessment for older adults and persons with disabilities.
Apply the WHO ICOPE approach to conduct a basic functional assessment of an older adult.
Conduct a basic needs and capability assessment for a person with a disability.
Obtain assessment consent and participation directly from the individual being assessed wherever they have capacity to provide it.
Recognise the limits of non-clinical assessment and identify when specialist clinical referral is required.
